Once a religious group came through to "save the children" from squalor or whatever. Some tall blonde woman had tears streaking down her face as she moved from hut to hut with words of hope. Then she came to my house. I was half naked with a beer in my hand and was sharpening my machete.
Or was that a euphemism?

I'd say that as long as you ain't collecting passengers for fares the tuk tuks wont bother you. there used to be a religious white guy up in Siem Reap with a tuk tuk full of his amish looking children (not sure if they were amish but sure dressed like it - long dresses and bonnets) and his wife they'd drive them around and aside from a few stares no hassle it seemed. I've also seen a white lady in Phom Penh driving her kids to school again, aside from a few lack jawed stares no gripes from the locals. I'd say you'll be fine.JDMPRO777 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2017 8:38 pm I don't plan to have a family driver. I want to be the driver which is the reason for the post. I realize this could upset the fragile balance of the tuk tuk mafia if they see me driving. Will not be for hire and may even put a sign on the back that says that. Can't afford a car, and don't want g/f and baby on a bike 100% of the time for safety and inclement weather reasons. Need it to be legal. Licensing; stamps or whatever. I figure 1000 for a used Honda dream and 800 for a used cart. Maintenance won't kill me, how bad can it be? 2 seats on a frame with springs with 2 occupants. Local repair wages. Gas is what it is.

An ex-cop from the US? Good chance he's never sober and hasn't been for thirty years.whiteribbon wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2017 12:49 pm Is this for real? I also have the tendency to over-share when I'm drunk but this wasn't posted at a time anyone would be drunk I think. I don't mind, it's actually kind of funny but I stopped believing any of it when the part about eating that puppy came up.

He is perfect for Sihanoukville. He is eccentric, long winded and his story draws you in until you have too much invested to walk away. I spent 7 minutes on his first post alone, I want him to get his tuk tuk as bad as he does after his prized dog was used for a wedding banquet. This man can scam a scammer. I would expect expat frauds to go down by at least 5% in Sihanoukville over the next year.Brewer wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2017 11:47 pmAn ex-cop from the US?
