Cambodian peacekeeper injured in Mali attack

A Cambodian peacekeeper has been injured in a probable jihadist attack in Mali yesterday and was evacuated by helicopter. His identity and condition have not been released at the present time. Two peacekeepers died in the attack.

Mali (FN), Nov. 25 - Cambodian peacekeepers were attacked in Mali at 12 noon time in Cambodia on Friday, according to a spokeswoman of the National Center for Peacekeeping Forces, Kosal Malinda, on Saturday afternoon.
The rebels attacked the peacekeepers causing one Cambodian peacekeeper minor injured, two from other countries died, and fifteen injured while working on their mission in Mali.
Malinda added that there are currently 309 Cambodian peacekeepers in Mali.

United Nations peacekeepers die in Mali attack

BAMAKO, Mali — Suspected jihadists attacked a U.N. peacekeeping position in northern Mali on Friday, killing two peacekeepers from Niger and a Malian soldier and injuring 14 peacekeepers and a U.N. civilian contractor, authorities said.

The U.N. mission reported that at least three assailants were killed by return fire from the peacekeepers.
The mission in Mali and U.N. officials in New York said the assailants attacked the peacekeepers’ position in Indelimane, about 43 miles west of Menaka near the border with Niger, early Friday.
