A Scottish vet I worked with as a kid put it best:

A well-looked after cat is a treasure, an abandoned one is a curse for everyone.

Did you ever ask him if that applied to dogs.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Super Duper is a great lead, thank you! I've still never been there.

And after I wrote that, I realized there were three more pages of comments -- with some other great leads too. Thanks, everyone.

And yes, spay-and-neuter is definitely in the plan, but so far the outfits I've contacted are aware of the problem at Wat Langka and unable to address it due to shortages of resources. And I'm not a vet.

^So are you going to all the trouble to buy expensive imported tins of KittyCat. Or hire a poor caring old lady?

I don't like patronizing megalithic corporations any more than the next guy, and canned cat food isn't nearly as good for cats as real animal protein. On the other hand, if I have ten pull-top tins of cat food, I'm good to go over there for ten straight days with no side trips to little-old-lady-ville. For a guy who essentially doesn't work, my days are actually pretty structured -- and having someone prepare food for me on a daily basis would be a show-stopper.

Had a German friend, called cats "roof rabits", reckoned they tasted the same.
