World's longest ruling leader and his family in military detention.

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

Great news with the proviso that I don't suppose the next in line will be any different. In terms of power hungry wives seeking the big prize I can't decide who is worse, Grace, Winnie or Hilary. Gucci Grace making it out of the typing pool marrying a guy 42 years older than her to within a whisker is a great effort.

This is obviously a family dispute, as you cannot tell me that he does not have sons in the military and intelligence service plus all the other government departments. Has Mugabe ever met HE.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

The old guard got tired of Grace being a megalomaniac, and firing the vice-president was the last straw. I think she has been exiled to Namibia.

I had to laugh at the vice-president's indignation at being fired, and his sudden acquisition of ethics/morality, after profiteering off all those years assisting Mugabe.

Zanu-PF tension could get nasty.

I see the fringe lunatic Boris Johnson was quick to jump in, maybe he smells money, or maybe he thinks he can emigrate there after Brexit, LOL

Zimbabwe and the China connection:

Zimbabwe: was Mugabe's fall a result of China flexing its muscle?
17 November 2017
A visit to Beijing last Friday by Zimbabwe’s military chief, General Constantino Chiwenga, has fuelled suspicions that China may have given the green light to this week’s army takeover in Harare.

If so, the world may just have witnessed the first example of a covert coup d’etat of the kind once favoured by the CIA and Britain’s MI6, but conceived and executed with the tacit support of the 21st century’s new global superpower.

China, Africa’s biggest foreign investor, has more at stake in Zimbabwe, and more political influence, than any other state. This is largely due to its extensive investments in the mining, agriculture, energy and construction sectors. China was Zimbabwe’s top trade partner in 2015, buying 28% of its exports. But the Chinese connection is about more than money...
