Oh, You Internet.
Re: Oh, You Internet.
I don't think it's a realistic alternative to a small free carry-on, but as the weight of those carry-ons is shrinking, (down to 7kg with Air Aisa) it could be a supplement for heavy items like jeans, jumpers and shoes.Big Daikon wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 11:55 amMultiple versions available.Doc67 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 11:45 amSeriously, can you buy these?truffledog wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 5:14 pmLimiting luggage makes sense, just immagine if anybody could carry what they want. A few indians would fill the whole thing up. For those flying the "no luggage at all fares" there is a great gadget (pics taken inside-out). Holds 5kg of goods. enough for a few days trip.

Most look ridiculous, but I see the purpose.
I can also see the X-Ray guy marking it for a closer look, and you'll have to unpack your 'jacket' and look like a right weirdo.

I have flown shitty airlines in the US that charged for carry-on baggage as well. (Never flew with them again.)Doc67 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 12:11 pmI don't think it's a realistic alternative to a small free carry-on, but as the weight of those carry-ons is shrinking, (down to 7kg with Air Aisa) it could be a supplement for heavy items like jeans, jumpers and shoes.Big Daikon wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 11:55 amMultiple versions available.Doc67 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 11:45 amSeriously, can you buy these?truffledog wrote: ↑Fri Jan 20, 2023 5:14 pmLimiting luggage makes sense, just immagine if anybody could carry what they want. Yeah, I would feel ridiculous in one of those things.

The weird bulges would set off a search. I would have to show security my socks and unmentionables.
(I still see some value here.)
Re: Oh, You Internet.
where do those body pocket jacket things stand with airlines? Do they allow them? Are they new and in a dubious grey area?

My guess is that an airline could not stop you if you had one of those jackets on

Re: Oh, You Internet.
I suspect so few people are going to such lengths that it makes no difference to the airlines. It might get you an additional 5kg and you can get away with a 7kg free carry-on plus your super nylon padded coat. Maybe you'll save $25.
How much do you value your dignity?
