Spare a thought for the poor Turks and their awesome leader, who, in his great wisdom decided to lower interests rates in the face of rising inflation. You don’t have to be a world class economist to work out where that would lead. The Lira fell the most, and by a big margin, of all similar countries. Inflation is now running at approx 80% with food prices rising around 90% since last year.

First make your son-in-law Minister of Finance, then have a somewhat competent Minister who did not agree with Erdogan (and "resigned"), followed by a Minister with little experience.
