Importance of locals

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I couldn’t agree more: recently a heavy drinking Sihanoukville top bloke awoke in his 3rd floor no elevator unit bed with no recollection how he got there. Upon enquiry it seems he fell asleep on Victory Hill Main Street to be picked up and carried up to his bunk by the local sangkat police.

See the locals arent all bad in cambodia, most of the time i prefer the conpany of khmers over barangs, khmers seem to be chilled out and easy to get along with.

(Comparee with overly shy, nitpicky, akward japanese people anyways)

That's funny. Possible but
highly highly improbable. I call bullshit!

I believe it, no lie these types of things happen in cambodia.

Many times local have gone out of there way for me when i was sick they took me to get nice duck soup to revive me

In 2011 me and a few khmers drank a carton of beer on a tuk tuk in PP and i passed out with 700 USD in my pocket....

Woke up couple hours later money still in my pocket untouched.

Obviously you struck them as an "untouchable."

The top bloke was himself so surprised upon hearing the news from his neighbors that he asked around and street witnesses confirmed it.
Moreover you are surely aware how non violent older French drunks hold special privileges on the Hill :hattip:
