Cambodian MMA fighters thrill Bangkok

- Two of Cambodia’s most exciting fighters continued their rise in Mixed Martial Arts by bringing back a pair of famous victories from Thailand’s premier MMA promotion Full Metal Dojo in their weekend Bangkok showpiece “FMD 15: Come Out to Play”.
Still undefeated in MMA, Meas Meul was victorious in his lightweight match against Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts Season 1 champion Allen “Solomon” Chong, submitting his decorated opponent by the tightest of rear-naked chokes at 2:51 into Round 2.

Meanwhile Tharoth Sam, who goes by the name “Little Frog”, won her women’s catchweight match (-54kg) against crowd favourite Kaewjai Prachumwong.
Tharoth, who had previously turned out at ONE Championship, slipped in a submission armbar 4:47 into Round 1 to score the win...

Meas Meul added to ONE Manila card

After successive wins on the Mixed Martial Arts circuit and a flawless streak in the cage, Meas Meul will make a return to the ONE Championship cage in Manila later this month.

Meul (6W-0L) has been matched with Filipino contender Edward ‘The Rock’ Kelly (9W-4L) at ONE Championship: Global Superheroes on January 26 in what is expected to be his toughest MMA test yet.

Meul, a judo specialist, is fighting out of the Cambodian Top Team (CTT) in Phnom Penh and is now under the tutelage of Cambodian MMA pioneer Chan Reach.

In his Full Metal Dojo 15 bout in Thailand last November, Meul was victorious in his lightweight match against Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts Season 1 champion Allen “Solomon” Chong, submitting his opponent by the tightest of rear-naked chokes two minutes and 51 seconds into round two...
