HE said in a message to CNRP parliamentarians and local councillors, he knew not all had been involved in Kem Sokha’s alleged treason and they should take the chance to switch to his ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP).
“I want to give you this opportunity to continue in your job,” he said. “It will not only be that the party is dissolved and then the matter is finished. Maybe more than 100 people will be banned from politics for five years.”

Re: Cambodian PM tells opposition to defect or face being banned from politics
Cambodia’s Supreme Court is in theory independent of the government in ruling on the interior ministry’s request for the CNRP to be banned, but HE has said it is “a fact” that the party will be dissolved.Abc123 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 05, 2017 10:24 am Cambodian PM tells opposition to defect or face being banned from politics.

Try the PMs FB page. If its been announced there, then it is so.
Seriously, the authorities passed a law which bars all politicians who have a criminal record from standing for office. It doesn't take much imagination to see how CNRP deputies could be made ineligible. Anyone who doesn't change sides gracefully will be arrested for something like belonging to an illegal organization, or worse.

I imagine most of them will take the deal. Can't lose that prestige.
