Come on PR, you should know this is going to be nothing but a scam to target unsuspecting foreigners.phuketrichard wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2017 4:20 pm great idea an hope they truly enforce it, hate to walk along the sand and step on a cig but.Read more at https://www.thephuketnews.com/no-butts- ... 5T0ZPX8.99No Butts! Re: smoking ban on beaches started yesterday
scam? its a government law, the 90 day grace is complete as every day there new people visiting the beaches, not the same ones
BUT i do admit it will be very hard to enforce and keep it truly transparent. BUT it can be, you no longer ( at least here in Phuket) get out of a ticket by paying a instant bribe, you get a ticket and are made to go to the station to pay it.
Lets wait and see, what i dont get is if its ONLY targeting non thais, ( plus am sure the fine will come down in cost, 1000,000 is a bit steep)

you should be an arab named Asif if you believe that. maybe on day 1.
just more nano hypocrisy from the xenophobes in the thai bureaucracy.
very westernized now.
even the women say khap instead of kha to farang now.
let's face it- they hate us but love our money.
and they need our military alliance.

Always "hope" but never "expect".

Re: smoking ban on beaches started yesterday
i don't know- i got that at immigration and found it odd.
thought it strange and asked around.
viral form of disrespect that the stupid water buffaloes do not understand.
run across it more than once in the past couple years.
sure- i get that khrap and Khap are south and north- educated and uncouth
but when a female uses the improper form- it is intentional disrespect; i am informed of this by my friend in North who has lived there 19 years.
it is a "thing" now
