More Chinese Takeover in Sihanoukville

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Was just there for 2 days. Stay at a resort casino On the beach and ate free, drank free, comped room for 2 days then walked out + $1200. Yeah it is a warzone but that feels like where I come from. Going back for more soon ;)

Wow. Great reference.
It’s amazing the change for permanent residents and I guess if you’re a tourist it’s more of a shock to the system.

Thanks for sharing the video.
Don’t listen to Chinese whispers.

To be honest 10 years ago it wasn't so hot. If you compare it to the wonderful beaches you can find in other places around the world it doesn't really compare. What the attraction was for me then were the Cambodian people who are now thin on the ground in the area.

fully agree, the thing i miss the most from living there was the big community we had there, everyone knew everyone, even just the little things, you dont get that same community vibe in PP

Same goes for sooo many places in SEA: Samui, Phangan, Phuket, Bali, Lake Toba, The Gili Islands, Puerto Galera, Boracay, Khao San Road, Thamel, Goa, Manali and Pokhara just to name a few...all of them had the community vibe in the 90`s which isnt there anymore. Just memories.
work is for people who cant find truffles
