Cambodia Visa Updates For Expats & Tourists 2018 (Visa On Arrival, Extensions, Retirement Visas, 3/6/12 Months)

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

was in PP last days and stopped by Lucky Lucky to get a 3 months Vietnam Visa, asked her what I should do since I'm on a EB visa here already almost 4 years but I'm not working and too young to get a Retirement visa, she told me not to worry, after the elections the rules will change again. So since I'm not of the worrying kind that's what I'll do. (3 months Vietnam multiple entry is $85 btw, no paperwork required)
Yes. I have the same feeling, hence why I just settled for a 6 month EG.

"Bye kids. Hope you have a good life. Daddy has to go away for awhile".
Excuse my ignorance, but what difference does this make? Exit, return, a one year visa. No problem, if you have $300 and a WP, right?
Okay, I'll excuse your ignorance. As kiwi said above, I'm between jobs. I don't have a WP atm because I am not employed.

Before my visa comes due in a few months, I have a choice of:
- find a job and get a WP;
- start a business and have a business licence; or
- suck it up!

Even without a job or business, I will still be a father. Though, I guess that doesn't count for much these days.
OK, but as you are not working now, your WP for this year covers you until 31 March next year, right? Normally Dec 31, but you get the extension until March 31. So gte part-time hours anywhere, get a letter, get the WP before Mar 31 2019, fixed. Am I missing something here?

The problem is not your WP, it is the timing of your visa, right?

Time to volunteer at an NGO, try PSE, or PM me, I MAY know someone looking for teachers

^^ My WP expired Dec 2017.

I appreciate your suggestions and offer of assistance. I just wish the powers that be would take into consideration all of the various possibilities. Even for those of us who have been married for over 17 years but have no marriage certificate. We are family. I have dependents.

I have no marriage certificate due to corrupted local officials who told me it would cost $650, that was in 2001.

UT, for what it's worth we're in the same boat for the same reason.

The Ministry needs to recognize 'family' not just 'marriage'.

I'm not quite in the same boat but have unregistered marriage of 10 years. I was told at the time that not registering just meant they would not be able to move to the US which I'm not interested in ever returning. Now have 2 beautiful girl and could not think of leaving them even if it meant sitting in prison just to stay.
I qualify for and have an ER EOS but was just thinking is there not a way we could come up with some kind of a 'business' that would qualify for WP's of coarse there dosen't need to be any profit or actual inventory like online teaching or something ?

Prehaps a CEO Business Investments and Visa Solutions,,,, hiring anyone that wants a visa ,,,, salary $10 per month plus commissions. One permanent subcontractor ,,, Lucky Lucky.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

curious, as ur not legally married, I assume ur name is on your child's BC, But does that make u the legal father in Cambodia,
In Thailand it does not.
Legally the child is urs by marriage to the mom, ( before or after the birth) or court order.
For Americans by submitting a " Consular Report of Birth Abroad " makes the child a US citizen, but still in Thailand, without the above, ur not the legal father, weird but...
MY daughter became a US citizen, even thou in thailand i was not yet recognized as the legal father ( we weren't married) .

Just asking.
Does ur child have ur countries passport?
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
