tuktuk app services, which is better?

Post by littlelostgirl »

There's PassApp, EXNET, and Itsumo. Are there any others?
PassApp and Exnet app looks identical. Are they the same :?:

I also checked estimates on the same routes from my home to work.
PassApp 13,000Riels
Exnet 16,000Riels
Itsumo 17,000Riels

Has anyone tried it yet? What are your reviews?

There's also 711GO for tuk tuk (and cars?). I think the tuk tuk rate is about 1200 riel/km.

I have used PassApp a couple of times. took few mins to arrive and none spoke a lot of English but you can show them where you want to go. For a $2 tuk tuk (TTs) trip from street 110 it was 4100 Riel. They are a bit small compared to TTs but fairly safe.
I prefer TTs but these are good transport. Minimum charge is 3000 Riel.
The app shows where your ride is and a time countdown to arrival. It also gives you the number and photo of driver.

Safe and enclosed. Reasonable pricing .

I can't find 711Go, but I found UGo711 Taxi Cambodia. That be it?

I guess if it's close by, you don't need the Apps. But it's always hard bargaining with Tuktuks nowadays. From TK to Toul Toumpung used to be $6 back and forth. Now they charge $10 and if they still feel bad, they'd say it's too far so $5 isn't enough :x

But the App drivers are sometimes also hard to talk to.. A lot of them don't speak english.

Why do these apps need access to Photos/Media, Camera and wifi info?

A lot of the drivers are the same.
I had one (Hyundai) and the rear wheel was bent so going down the road faster than 10mph was quite comedic! We were being bounced around all over the place.

Car turned up and air con worked. That was Exnet.

Gave up completely trying to use Itsumo. Always get the "No driver available" reply after a few minutes. Never once was able to successfully book a ride with them.

PassApp works reliably well. Most of the drivers speak some English, although the app has a serious bug when you try and set your destination with a pin. It always winds up setting it several hundred meters away on the driver's phone, usually with catastrophic consequences with regard to the route the driver needs to take to get there. You really need to be able to speak some Khmer to explain to them that they need to ignore the destination on the screen and take you where you really want to go. Never had a problem taking them to somewhere obvious like the airport though.

Haven't tried to use Exnet so I can't comment.
