This was 2 days ago. I'm sure it's the same place.

Not better in Temple Town. In front of the new Tourist Information Center:

For Cambodia's premier tourist town, that is a disgrace.

Must agree that Siem Reap has got dirtier. I was back there this year after almost 10 years, and the river and the surrounding area was quite shocking. I'm sure it wasn't like that before. The town has got a lot bigger of course but that's no excuse.

It has, I have lived there the last 10 years and it has steadily become worse. Not necessarily the fault of GAEA, al least they placed rubbish bins all along the river. But local people and businesses use them to dump their garbage all around them to avoid paying the collection fee.Anchor Moy wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2017 4:03 pm Must agree that Siem Reap has got dirtier. If that is the case, then the people that dump their rubbish have never paid the fee before. To save a small amount of money for a business to actually resort to fly-tipping does not show a good example.hanno wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2017 4:17 pmIt has, I have lived there the last 10 years and it has steadily become worse. I pay the same here has any other business $2,50 per month for collection. I look at it, that I have to sell a handful of beers, and the cans are recycled. So I personally don't have too much rubbish per month.
Always "hope" but never "expect".
