A 26 year old South African man has been arrested in the second international cocaine bust over the period of one week at Cambodia's airports, where drug mules have arrived from Brazil via Dubai with a stomach full of cocaine pellets. A Venezuelan woman was arrested on arrival at Siem Reap airport on 9 September with 1 kg of cocaine in her system.

Cambodian authorities last week arrested an alleged drug mule attempting to smuggle cocaine into the Kingdom by hiding it in his stomach.


South African national Blignaut Chan, 26, was seized on September 13 at Phnom Penh International Airport in a joint operation between the National Authority for Combating Drugs (NACD), Customs Department and immigration officers, according to NACD spokesman Meas Virith. 


Virith said a scan at the airport revealed Chan had 59 packets of cocaine in his stomach, weighing about 759 grams.

The official said the suspect had allegedly flown from Brazil via Dubai.

anyhow- i bet he wishes he had changed his name to Smith now as he will be smited or smitten heavily.

Have to be a big bloke to swallow nearly a kilo of powder, obviously dobbed in. Other mules on the same flight would have got through, that's how it works. An Alaskan football team used to fly to Katmandu, swallow up to 2KGs of hash oil each and fly back to Anchorage. Every year.
In 1980 a kilo of oil in Alaska fetched $35,000!

I'm not surprised he looks so miserable, besides being busted and looking at 20 years, that's an insane amount of packages to have in your intestines. A whole lot of them appear to be in the lower colon, I wonder if these smugglers have to re-swallow any that come out the other side while in transit?

Yep, looking at that image, they wouldn't have had to have waited long for the evidence to see the light of day.
