Notorious beggar Benjamin Holst, who first hit the headlines in 2014, when he used his swollen leg to get money out of generous Thais who were sympathetic towards his plight.
Holst's story was shared among Thais on social media and he even featured on national television. He later received a 50,000 THB donation from an association which assists German nationals overseas.

Oh, old Benjie said in a German newspaper that he would never go back to Asia, as people hated him so much there. He was going to head for South America.

If anyone's interested in getting a closer look at Holst's life, he accepts all friend requests on FB. There is some creepy stuff on there, like one picture of women he was secretly photographing in a cafe in Denmark. He also got smeared by hackers on there once. There are Holst-defenders to be found there of course. I currently have him set to block status because I couldn't help but speak out about his scams once and the Benji-defenders started a minor cyber-bullying campaign against me.
