Travelling Solo

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Travelling Solo

Post by The Mask »

Hi, I have never visited Cambodia and would like to know if it is safe to travel solo in Phnom Penh? I'm a 38yo male and have travelled to Pattaya and Angeles City in the past.
Thank you in advance.

If you survived Pattaya and Angeles City, Phnom Penh will be a breeze.

You could always travel with a friend if you're worried at all.

No, Cambodia is no place for a Solo Man. The last one to come here ended up in prison.

I'm a 60-year-old male who has travelled solo to PP (and all over the world). Never had a problem... but I don't carry my wallet in my back pocket, wear tons of gold chains, buy drugs or go when invited to card games.
You could be next.

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Travelling to Phnom Penh solo is not a problem, however travelling in Phnom Penh solo is a different issue entirely. Especially if you drive a moto

My cat had a different experience getting here! :D

You shouldn't spike your cat's food with purple microdot before travelling.
