British English Teacher

This is our job board for expats. Until ZipRecruiter and Indeed make their way to the Kingdom of Wonder, this is the best place to look for employment in Cambodia, whether you're looking to teach English, manage a 5-star hotel, volunteer, or even work for some of the big NGOs. Even digital nomads who move to Cambodia sometimes need a side gig as a TEFL instructor from time to time. Most professional expatriate jobs are in Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap and Kampot are emerging as attractive alternatives. If you're an employer or hiring manager, you're also welcome to post your job listing here for free.

British English Teacher

Post by Ted2017 »

Hello,

I'm hoping you may be able to help.

I'm looking to teach English in Phnom Penh.

I'm British, 30 years old, and relocating there next month.

I have a C.E.L.T.A. and a Philosophy degree.

Thanks!

Help you with what exactly?

Use the search function for CELTA, TEFL, teaching, accomodation, visas, drugs, gay info, etc.

Excuse me?

I have posted an advert in the seeking employment section specifying that I'm seeking employment...

Self-explanatory I should think.

Ted, join the Facebook group Phnom Penh Jobs Alert (copy and paste the name as there is a shadow group called Phnom Penh Job Alerts) and ask there.

Declaration of bias - I'm an admin at PPJA.

I notice members (mods at that) can abuse posters but woe betide anyone who does it to the inner circle clique.

No abuse in my post above at all.

Sorry to Ted if he thought there was.

His question was not really specific as to what he wanted to know. Which schools? Which city/area is best? Salary expectations? (You know, the usual questions that are asked by potential new comers planning on teaching English). In fact there is not even one question mark in Ted's post.

Joining a forum site, for whatever reason, to talk with people within that country. gaining and shearing information, enjoying the odd little banter. Do you believe in a inner circle clique. I think the members whom you are talking about have been here a long time, and are mostly knowledgeable of questions you may want to ask or talk about. I would say to anyone "lighten up and enjoy".
Always "hope" but never "expect".

You pretty much assumed he was gay!
