I called tonight at the agent in koh kong. He told me people wanting the renewal of a EB extension, need to bring their passport and their business licence plus their work permit. Or they can go to PP and try to get an extension.
Hello, can you tell me who is the agent at Koh kong ? I might need him. Thanks.

Re: Visa Extension Costs: Any Updates?
A quick update for people wanting to renew a long term business visa extension:
I brought in my passport to a well known agency in Kampot last week for a one year EB extension. I already live in Cambodia for a while and had 2 previous 1 year extensions but never had a work permit (since I don't work).
I got my passport back yesterday, with a brand new 1 year EB. No questions asked. According to the lady that handled this for me they can still do 6 month and 1 year extensions without a problem and nothing has changed according to her.
I'm a new poster here so I won't post the agencies name (not sure about the rules on this), but feel free to ask me in PM.

It does seem once again that the changers to the EB visa is just huff and puff. Only to the few whom are business owners and working does it effect.

I may have a Retirement visa by the time they change.

Re: Visa Extension Costs: Any Updates?
There was plenty of written coverage of the proposed new visa change. But I have not seen any revoking the changes?

They don't need to revoke anything that's not yet law.

Re: Visa Extension Costs: Any Updates?
FWIW ... what I have pieced together from some assorted local contacts I consider to be reliable:
1) The work permit requirements for business Visa extensions WILL be enforced. It is just a matter of time. There seems to be a lot of internal discussion still as to how exactly inplemented so more start/stop/start on this seems inevitable ... but it WILL happen ... sooner rather than later.
2) A retirement visa will be made available, minimum age 55+ ... current thinking is that additional requirements or documents beyond proof of age will be minimal if at all.
Reading between the lines I sense that they are wary of running off the retirement sector as it helps prop up rental prices and local businesses. Motives seem more more about tax revenue than anything else.
Also one contact mentioned not wanting to to have too many younger, unemployed people staying here long term .. concerns being more about drugs and other social issues. This could be a one off comment, but it is worth noting and makes some sense.
As always, this is Cambodia and outlook is foggy and subject to change, but I consider the feedback reliable.
Cheers,
RD
