Sihanoukville Residents Complain Of Horrific Sounds of Animals Being Killed Every Night in Nearly Slaughterhouse
CAMBODIA NEWS: Local residents have strongly complained and would unanimously agree to go against the slaughterhouse located in the Ministry of Provincial Agriculture.
People say they heard loud noises of butchered animals such as cows and pigs every night and it's a horrific ordeal. The residents made a strong request to the local authorities and the owner to solve these problems to avoid polluting the environment and to protect people's health.

Soundproofing would help. Or a little compensation for nearby residents.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

The slaughterhouse has been there for years. This is just newly moved-in folk trying to gentrify the neighborhood with their fancy ideas.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

It's actually an animal retirement home.

The smell must be terrible.
And what do they do with the bits they don't want ? Leave them out for the local dogs ?
Edit: Any address ? Anyone know where this is in SHV ?

It'd certainly be a bit whiffy if they were tanning the hides there.

Re: Sihanoukville Residents Complain Of Horrific Sounds of Animals Being Killed Every Night in Nearly Slaughterhouse
By a complete coincidence, this was reported yesterday :
Slaughterhouse crackdown ordered
PHOMN PENH. Deputy Phnom Penh Governor Keo Sok Pisey yesterday instructed all district authorities to conduct inspections of slaughterhouses in their jurisdictions to ensure they meet hygiene standards and are properly registered.
Ms Sok Pisey issued the directive after a meeting with the Agriculture Ministry and the Cambodian Animal Raiser Association at City Hall.
“District authorities have to check slaughterhouses which are illegal, and instruct them to obtain the proper licence for operating.”
Ms Pisey said in the meeting that all slaughterhouses must be registered following the inspections to ensure they are all following the same standards.
Phnom Penh Agriculture Department director Seang Borin said there were 15 illegal slaughterhouses and 23 legal slaughterhouses in Phnom Penh.
Mr Borin added that monitoring slaughterhouses was the best way to control the quality of meat being processed...
