A (very) quick trip to Sihanoukville: A blogger's review.

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

You can't stand in the way of progress, but you can bitch about it.

15 years time Otres will be a major beach resort. The Chinese will have gone and it'll be the new rich, maybe Russians or Indians. Who knows.
No where near the same. And who is it who owns Pattaya.

I agree, it cannot be compared and even 30 years ago Samui was not a dump as Sihanouk is now....
ONLY MONKEYS THINK THAT I AM NOT LIVING IN CAMBODIA BECAUSE I USE VPNs and PROXIES.
Sorry but I do not reply to idiots, especially the old ones.

nor was Pattaya, a fully functioning resort/city when i lived there in 1984
When i first visited Samui i 1976, it was sorta like Otres now,,, but was never as dirty as SNV ( and NO CHINESE)

Cambodia is Cambodia, wont ever be anything like Thailand..
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
