GSM closing?

This is the part of the forum where we discuss Cambodia's nightlife! While most bars, nightclubs, pubs, beer gardens, and hostess bars are in Phnom Penh, we discuss the Cambodian nightlife across all of Cambodia, including Siem Reap, Kampot, and Sihanoukville. The main nightlife areas in Phnom Penh are on Street 136, Street 130, Street 110 and Street 51, but there are other party spots that aren't girlie bars where expats, tourists, and locals drink until the sun comes up. Feel free to post specials and promotions that relate to nighttime fun!

172 has already fallen to the dismay of the fisherman pants wearing, feminazi, soapdodging, dreadlock, man bun snowflakes.
gives them someone to look down on- so they are secretly thrilled, but not the girls.

Being friend with SHV oldest expats/drunks my problem is rather where to go during day time without getting shit faced.
The sleaziest best french speaking blokes can be seen drinking in the no name,no licence, main street terrace water hole, opened for more than 10 years where no official ever set foot.

I learned in Darwin to to drink cool , low alcoholic beer(lightbeer).

Drinking full strength beer in high humidity in the day time will lead to what we call
"Mango madness" up north.

In the NT it's always been called going troppo. A hundred years ago boats would call in to Darwin and everyone was wearing pyjamas. Just like the Chinese there did, and still do in Asia. The Europeans had gone troppo and why not?
I hope there is a brass plaque in memory of the GSM, it's had it's moments. Where would Pontoon go to?
Maybe to a flash hotel and be like the nightclubs in Bangkok hotels. Some of them were really good.
Which are the good ones now, Jamie?
