History of the Thai stick

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

History of the Thai stick

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

That looks delicious.
"Life is too important to take seriously."

"Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh."

I remember the boys had the shoes to smuggle to Japan and the photo albums. They got something like 400 sticks in the soles and heels of a pair of shoes and I think 200 in a photo album cover. The press used to squash them so flat and then they would steam them up again.
Everyone in NZ was importing and selling Thai sticks in the early to mid seventies. The ganga was so fucking strong and reputed to be laced with heroin although no one knew for sure.
Later I met people who sprayed sticks for export with a heroin mixture. When I first went to Bangkok we chased the dragon with the go go girls from Patpong constantly, fuck those were the days eh Richard.

LOL"""
my first trek in 1977 out of Chiang Rai we hired a boy to carry our drugs for us, just in case the army stopped us.
They tried in the mid 70's to bring sticks back ( we had them in the states '67) and coated with O, but there was already starting to be stronger stuff around.

Did u know the guys at Superstar in Patpong?? great group :beer3:

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way.

Then the busy years went rushing by us
We lost our starry notions on the way
If by chance I'd see you in the tavern
We'd smile at one another and we'd say
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
