This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Sodium in 100g baked beans 422mg = 17% of your recommended daily intake
hardly life threatening

you'd think so but...
I had a fry-up every day for a month… and LOST weight https://www.thesun.co.uk/archives/healt ... st-weight/

FEWER people are kick-starting their morning with a full English breakfast.
A recent survey revealed only one in 100 tucks in to a fry-up daily compared
with 50 in the 1950s.
The cooked breakfast is sizzling out because people are more health conscious
and don’t have the time or money, experts say.
But is a plate of bacon, eggs, sausage, tomato, beans, toast and black
pudding such a bad thing?
Mum-of-three JULIA ETHERINGTON, 33, tucked in to a full English every day for
a month – with surprising results. Here is her story.

I’M a cereal-lover usually, enjoying the odd weekend fry-up, but I do love my
food so jumped at the chance to tuck in every morning, all in the name of
research.

My blood pressure was its usual low self, at 104 over 73, weight was 10st 12lb
and at just under 5ft 8in my BMI (Body Mass Index) was 23.87.

My total cholesterol, said Ravinder Singh, the Lloyds pharmacist who did the
tests, was healthy at 5.31 and — here comes the science bit — the good kind
of cholesterol was 1.46 in units called millimoles per litre of blood
(mmol/l).

At the end of the month...
Most notably my cholesterol had gone DOWN. The total was 4.65mmol/l and
the ratio of good cholesterol was higher, at 1.71mmol/l.

My weight had also dropped. To use the word “plummet” would be over-egging it
but 2lb is better than nothing and took my BMI down to 23.53.

The only thing higher than when I started eating breakfasts was my blood
pressure, which had changed insignificantly to 109/68 and was still low.

Father James and his homily on breakfast knows no bounds. Why so complicated? I have a reasonable daily start with two cups of coffee and 3-4 cigarettes. Items chosen from each essential food group.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

Well I'll start my new-found cyber scepticism by discounting that bullshit.
