New Book Explores Cambodia’s Noir Side (Iain Donnelly's Saraswati Publishing Company)

Have questions or resources regarding Khmer Culture? This forum is all about the Kingdom of Cambodia's culture. Khmer language, Cambodian weddings, French influence, Cambodian architecture, Cambodian politics, Khmer customs, etc? This is the place. Living in Cambodia can cause you to experience a whole new level of culture shock, so feel free to talk about all things related to the Khmer people, and their traditions. And if you want something in Khmer script translated into English, you will probably find what you need.

New Book Explores Cambodia’s Noir Side (Iain Donnelly's Saraswati Publishing Company)

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

It would be fair to say that Saraswati Publishing was started to preserve and record stories that can only come from Cambodia.

Iain Donnelly, a Scottish expat who writes under the pen name Steven W. Palmer, wanted to find a way of releasing his books in Cambodia without having to import them from the US.

Since its launch only one year ago, Saraswati has published three novels, “Angkor Away” and “Angkor Tears” by Steven W. Palmer and Bob Couttie’s “Temple of the Leper King”.

Along with being a publishing company, Saraswati also offers copy writing, proofreading and editing and a marketing and digital strategy, as well as designing services.

I think he'll take Saraswati Publishing far. I remember speaking to him shortly after starting it, and he was very enthusiastic about the project and has a passion for Cambodia and writing.

Kudos to him.

Thanks for the nice replies guys. Been nice to get a bit of media coverage which will hopefully equate to a lot of sales of Mekong Shadows which in turn could equate to restoring a lot of Cambodians sight

Am I totally altruistic?

Hell no, I want to make some Benjamins. But if I can make a chunk of them from the corporate work then it is nice to give something back

Hope to see you all at the launch buying 10 copies each :)

Good stuff, and you deserve to make some cash out of it. Feel free to keep us posted, or I guess we can just keep a lookout for your appearances in the newspapers. :thumb:
