I'd need a bit more info if I were to believe that..

Believe what you want, I'm just sharing what I was told by someone who was close enough to take a photo of the victim.

I guess that means you 100% believe it? Who saw it all happening and told you? Khmer or barang? Are they very good friends? There's always more to a story, like the other fight in a KTV recently, also root caused by women.
I'm not saying one way or the other. But I have heard a lot of stories.
Plus I instinctively agree with AM: who really knows when the info is coming from Cambodia?.

Doesn't really matter what nationality was beating up which woman.
Since when is that any reason to have 40 or more Chinese workers/visitors rioting in the streets with iron bars, etc.

Yes, that was a satirical point which I had just edited out before seeing your post. Check the logs if you don't believe me.Username Taken wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2017 9:51 pm Doesn't really matter what nationality was beating up which woman.

I presume it was all down to previous experience, such as that other recent KTV fight down there. I expect both groups are chicken heads. Do the Chinese also seek a head for an eye?

it would have likely been "Rocky Plus" on the beach
and im guessing the incident started around the back of the bar near the toilets, shit always goes on back there with loads of Khmers and viets hanging around the back of the beach bars, seen a number of fights back there involving boys and girls, i have no reason to doubt Roz, Kunthea and their friend

Ouch.
As for your statement that "a lot" of khmer are "always" beating up their women ?
Now that's an example of solid info right there. Obviously it's her fault . If she hadn't been dancing/breathing/existing, it wouldn't have happened. The first thing I thought was that a lot of khmer are always beating up their women, so why all the rumpous about a foreigner doing the same? There's always more to a story, like the other fight in a KTV recently, also caused by a woman.

Apparently she was tipsy and being a bit mouthy, but the response from the Chinese seemed to be quite an overreaction.

Well,. Mostly it isn't news here when a Khmer male beats up on a khmer female. The exceptions being when it's a hiso Khmer as happened a few months ago down there, or a famous female, as happened in a night club in PP. Or when it leads to a murder, as in the recent case of the cop that was murdered . Or when a foreigner does it. I think a lot of NGOs would disagree with your opinion.Anchor Moy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2017 10:08 pm Ouch. Now that's an example of solid info right there. Obviously it's her fault . As to whether the woman was cheating / stealing and was in a big way to blame for the alleged attack or not, we shall I expect never know.
Best just to walk away and learn from your experiences, unless you have the head for an eye thing going on.
I guess we all feel vengeful when we get cheated/ stolen from for a while. How long snd how big we let it get within us depends on our personalities and perhaps even our cultures.
I think there would be a lot more violence against Khmer by white western foreigners if the societies they came from had more collective, less individualistic, cultures
