Bunk Beds in Siem Reap

Post by Maxi »

Hey,

a friend of mine and I are about to open up a Hostel
In Siem Reap.

Right now we are looking for bunk beds but it's pretty difficult to find them, does anyone have any idea where I can find some?

Or know someone who my can build them for us like a carpenter or someone who can do welding?

Kind regards

Max

I don't have an answer for you, but did you ever manage to find or make them? And more importantly.....How is the new hostel going? With private rooms going for as cheap as around $6, what's a bunk bed with 20 other backpackers in the same room sharing a toilet down the hall go for in Siem Reap? On my last trip there I found places that were in a so-so area with a POOL for about $10. I kid you not, so what would a bunkbed cost a night? And surely those are the hardest type of travelers to get cash out of in other ways. If you're paying $2 for a bed for the night, you're probably willing to walk half way across town to buy a 50 cent meal instead of eating noodles at your hostel for a whopping $1.50.

So, how is the biz going, for real?

Bit late on the reply but do NOT under any circumstances make your bunk beds from wood. Bed bugs love wooden bunk beds. Make them from steel. Or buy them in/ import them. My advice would be to have them made to order. Who to get to do this in SRP... that i cant help with. You could try google sketchup 3D drawing package though for designs. I uploaded a wooden bunk bed design a long time ago and it has been very popular download. It could be altered to suit a steel construction i think. Anyway. Good luck with the hostel... I've been there and tbh wild horses couldn't drag me back.
