Construction stopped on Ream Beach, Sihanoukville

Breaking news from Cambodia can be found here. CEO often finds Khmer news and translates it into English for our readers if it is interesting to expats, locals, Cambodians living abroad and anyone who wants to stay informed of the latest local and international news stories about Cambodia and our neighbors in South East Asia. There are many sources for Khmer news articles and they can all be found here in one place. Most of the media comes out of Phnom Penh, Siem Reap or Sihanoukville, but we cover national Cambodian news from all provinces.

Do the Chinese realise how much storms affect the beaches there? And where is the sewerage going to go?

Let them build it and on the opening day, tell them they have to take it down in 7 days. Fuck em!

That building is surprisingly close to the beach. This month's Bayon Pearnik has an aerial shot of the Chinese plans from Otres 2 through Ream all the way to the airport. Ugly megalithic buildings. The Chinese really aren't good at conservation, architecture and so on. They haven't shaken the old communist habits yet. I'm wondering if the authorities will give them permission and sell off their country to them or not.

that looks the same as the big casino theyre building in between sokha and independence beaches
By "the same" you mean just as ugly ? I'm afraid they are all going to be "the same" right along the coast. If there is any theme or architectural continuity in the coastal development, it is the consistent ugliness and lack of imagination.

As for the OP, how ironic to give planning permission for the building and then decide that a seawall is a step too far. Could be that local authorities are not happy with their share of the commission for this development ?
yeah just as ugly, but if you see, its a big rectangular building with 2 buildings either side with dome roofs
That's the Taiwanese one, I believe. Of all of the condo projects that's the only one I think will actually be finished

Oh stop being finicky.

A bit of sweet-and-sour poop never hurt anybody.
