Election Body Urges Legal Action Against Its Social Media Critics
The National Election Committee (NEC) has asked the government to take legal action against two social media users for posting “inciting news” about the June 4 commune elections it claims dishonored the body.

According to the statement dated Tuesday, the NEC called on “relevant institutions” to take action against users that it claimed falsely questioned the neutrality of the body.

“Recently, the NEC has seen that some social networks (KM Khmer, Real News…) have disseminated inciting news to dishonor the [NEC] by saying that it is under the control of foreigners” and that questions the body’s count of voter turnout.

If foreign control is always evil, then they should consider that the Buddha was certainly not a Cambodian. In their logic, they should burn down all their Buddhist temples, because they are supposedly under the control of a now dead foreigner.
