Re: Best and worst airports/airlines
1) when u departing suva airport before go up the escalator there is a guy there checking your boarding pass, immediately on top of the escalator another guy checking your boarding pass (why? someone might climb up the escalator midway to sneak into passport checking area?)peppermintpaddy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2017 3:58 am ridiculous list..suvannaphum on the worst airport list -why? .....great airport by any standard.......now,don muang is a shitty airport-whys that not on the list?
2) after that boarding pass check there is no toilets available until after passport/ immigration and security check, was stuck there at immigration check once for 15mins with some bodily urgencies
3) there are few phone charging station with seats unless you walk to the boarding waiting area
4) signs point to a gate but in actual fact it made you go down 1 level and made you walk back where you came from
so basically a good airport is not just hardware, the designers and management have to actually think about what the passengers want and need.
havent been to don muang airport much, so i cant comment much it

Agreed, a couple of years ago I wast stuck at immigration for an hour with nary a toilet in sight. Signage is useless, arrival is a complete mess, and it was over its capacity from the day it opened.

Re: Best and worst airports/airlines
Worse is the taxi line, especially if one or more planes arrive from China while you're in the queue. The line will often stand still for hours while Chinese travelers just go to the head of the line, and the officials with a) not do anything about it and b) not let you do anything about it. Seasoned travelers step out of the airport and grab a bus to the nearest rail line, and catch the train into the city.hanno wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2017 11:15 ambolueeleh wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2017 10:49 amhavent been to don muang airport much, so i cant comment much itpeppermintpaddy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2017 3:58 am ridiculous list..suvannaphum on the worst airport list -why? .....great airport by any standard.......now,don muang is a shitty airport-whys that not on the list?

Not generally at DM, they don't. Unless they're Chinese. And once the private cars are all gone, they're all gone. YEMV.
