Happy to get out of SEA

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Amsterdam has the most over hyped red light district in the world, its pathetic, Hua Hin is more red light than Amsterdam lol
Amsterdam is progressively shutting down it's read light district - should be almost completely closed out by now. Also, the "coffee shops" have turned into members-only clubs.

Source: Mrs Stroppy's Dutch family.
it was 11-12 years ago when i went, hadnt started closing down then,
must have been my first real experience of a redlight district and was left pretty disappointed tbh,
the weed and shrooms were top notch though lol
we was staying in Rotterdam and went over to Amsterdam twice
much preferred Rotterdam tbh
Three women from the Dutch family took me for a walk through the RLD 10 years ago thinking they'd embarrass me (and they did) but then suddenly realised they might see one of their friends or neighbours in the windows (it's that sort of country) and couldn't get out of there fast enough. What I enjoyed was seeing an old Dutch Reformed (I guess) church right in the middle of the RLD, and seeing the original cobblestones all around, with a line worked into the cobbles showing the property boundary. Some jokers from the RLD side of the line have removed a number of cobbles and replaced them with finely crafted 3D tiles of genitalia.
Bodge: This ain't Kansas, and the neighbours ate Toto!

I first went on 1977. I found window shopping for pussy somewhat sterile and not at all erotic.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

yeah didnt really do anything for me either, dont see the appeal tbh,
didnt really used to like Agogo bars either (i dont mind now tbh), but at least you can sit and drink with your mates in there,
in Amsterdam youre just part of a crowd of asian tourists and blokes on stag dos curb crawling walking along the canals having girls tap at their window at you

Honestly they are quite behind Cambodia in terms of the whole free WIFI everywhere.

i noticed since last trip they have come down hard on immigration too , they made it illegal to volunteer in hostels for a bed with out a work visa.
