Reinstall Windows 7 on Laptop
Re: Reinstall Windows 7 on Laptop
It's not hard to do it yourself. There are many videos out there that will walk you through it.
I just shredded the drive on one computer and reinstalled windows and Ubuntu. I saved my files to an external first.

Re: Reinstall Windows 7 on Laptop
Few options.
Boot the computer.
Press F8 and hold/tap until your system boots into Windows Advanced Boot Options.
Select Repair Your Computer.
Select a keyboard layout.
Click Next.
Login as an administrative user.
Click OK.
At the System Recovery Options window, select Startup Repair.
--------------
OR if you have the disc, you could try booting in safe mode - accessible from pressing f8 whilst the computer is turning on and then running windows 7 from disc, otherwise you can again access the boot menu with f8 (whilst computer turns on) and find the option to boot from cd / disc or whatever it says (sorry I can't be more specific, I've just woke up lol)

^ a bit more info, if you get stuck feel free to reach out
ALSO, if you have a legit 7 key you should be fine to get the upgrade to 10 for free, not much of a difference between the 2 however be warned that you can't go back once you make the jump.
One benefit is it's reformat-able without any disc

Re: Reinstall Windows 7 on Laptop
Considering the OP started this post back in March, hopefully he's got it sorted by now.
I think the free upgrade to win 10 expired 12 months ago.

Ah I didn't notice the OP date lol,
I upgraded from 7 to 10 about a month back on my laptop, I think Microsoft extended it as the data they get is more valuable then selling the software

If you are not confident that you can fix it, better find a com tech that will surely fix and maybe you can get a good tip and better performance.
