Back on the serious side, how about one of those Tico's for a cheap car.
And I dont mean one thats been converted to a tuk-tuk

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Those BMW Isettas aren't cheap anymore! I remember "Bubble Cars" going for a song back in the 70s.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Re: Small. Cheap cars

Money is not the problem, the problem is no money

What? You guys can give me shit, but I can't give it back?bolueeleh wrote:when u pose a questions on the interweb, expect all kinds of answers, deal with it, if not back to yellow pages u go, go and ask a tuk tuk to bring u to a couple of car "showroom", hope u find ur ideal car soon, cheers
It was a simple question. Are any of these cheap cars better than the others?

Re: Small. Cheap cars
cars in cambodia are not maintained properly and the cheaper the car the worse they are
before they are even owned they come from dubious sources and are written off in accidents or other damage, like water damage.the khmers are experts at making a heap look like a minter.bit like putting lipstick on a pig.
ticos are always pieces of shit no matter if they are owned by khmer or a barang!
if you pay less than $3k for a car then you will always have issues with it.if u dont have any mechanical knowledge or know someone who does (not khmer) then dont buy one.if you have never driven in cambodia then be very careful.
the small cars are all shit for longer journys and you will get bullied by anything bigger than a cat!

I've driven in Cambodia enough to know the ropes. This car is just for around town. If I need to head out on the highway, I'll rent a big beast. If we end staying longer than a few months, I'll get something better.SinnSisamouth wrote:cars in cambodia are not maintained properly and the cheaper the car the worse they are

Thanks for the tip on the Tico. I'll be sure to give it a miss.

As someone else said, Ticos are that much. A Visto is minimum $2500-3000. I wouldn't buy a car for city commuting but that's me.vladimir wrote:You can pick one of those up for $1500 or less, I think orange dragon bought one for $1000
