at the risk of being flamed, I disagree. Resilient implies bouncing back. They don't. They endure. This explains a lot to me. Their ability to endure intolerable conditions prevents solutions. EVERY thing is simply endured. No change. They don't even seem to consider change is possible. And the okna smile. But hey, it would be chaos (or might be with half the country under 25 and growing up with the internet) if more and more people clamored for change, improvement. I really wonder what things will be like in ten yrs or so when a pretty good size demographic with no real knowledge of the past starts getting into more and more positions to make changes.
