Police sign cooperation deal with UK’s NCA

Cambodia has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency (NCA) to combat crimes including child and sexual trafficking.

The MoU was signed on Thursday after Director-General of the General Commissariat of National Police General Neth Savoeun met with Steve Reynolds, the deputy chief of the NCA, in London, according to the National Police website.

It added that both sides discussed and exchange experiences on child and sexual trafficking, technology crimes and other crimes. Both sides also agreed to increase cooperation on information exchanges and training.

In 2014, the National Police and the NCA signed an MoU in Cambodia which focused on exchanges of information, cooperation in fighting transnational crimes, violate crimes and investigations.

It added that the recently signed MoU updated and changed some of the terms already agreed to, but no details were available.
