Do you mean like instead of 'dop pii' (twelve), they say 'pii don dop'? (something like that anyway)
Regarding numbers, I can only recall it being used with the dop numbers.

i was always under the impression it was just a play on words and didnt mean anything
its interesting because this is very similar to cockney rhyming slang
i guess it must be more common around cambodia, maybe its just the people involved in the beach culture down here that make it seem more common, the kids that work the beach and the girls who work the bars that as kids worked the beach tend to be the ones i notice using it the most
