Large drug bust earlier this year.

The government is to launch a six-month campaign against drugs, starting next month.

The move was announced as the government admitted that trafficking has not fallen and that drug use is rising and spreading from the
cities to rural areas. Interior Minister Sar Kheng will take the role of campaign president. Deputy Prime Minister Ke Kim Yan, president of the National Authority for Combating Drugs (NACD), will be vice-president.

The campaign starts on January 1.

The plan, signed by Prime Minister HE on Tuesday, said the rising drug use brought increases in crime and traffic accidents.

This year, police and the military tackled 4,191 cases and arrested 9,802 people, including 3,611 drug users, and seized more than 175 kilograms of drugs...

It looks like the military guys that did the ''crack-down '' on the illegal logging have been transferred to the crack-down on drugs department .
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

They are listening to you FLB. There are even suggestions of punishing officials involved in drug trafficking:
In yesterday’s meeting, Ke Kim Yan, president of the National Authority for Combating Drugs, spoke about sentencing officials who conspired to assist drug traffickers.
“If our high-ranking officials commit [this offense], the punishment has to be higher,” he said.
“It should be double and not less. Army or other senior officials will get the same punishment.

“I also do not understand, recently military police cracked down on drug trafficking and the suspect shot the officer to death, but was imprisoned for only four years.
“But in another case, a suspect shot his lover to death and was sentenced to life in prison,” he added, depicting unfair implementation of the law.

Yong Kim Eng, president of People Center for Development and Peace, supported the creation of the campaign and urged authorities to investigate officials thought to be involved with drug trafficking to set an example to other officials.

“For the officials who conspired in drug trafficking, I think they should not only receive administrative punishment, but receive a strong sentence as well,” he said.
“Because the problem has occurred for a long time. They say the drug trade is helped by officials, which makes people lose faith in the government.” http://www.khmertimeskh.com/news/33518/ ... out-drugs/

Heavy sentences for drug traffickers.
Wednesday 28 December 2016, three Cambodians received life sentences for their role in a marijuana smuggling operation that was busted in August 2015, when they were apprehended transporting almost 1.5 tons of weed from Stung Streng province to Phnom Penh.
Three marijuana traffickers who claimed minor roles in a multinational syndicate, and an alleged Thai mastermind who remains on the run were slapped with life sentences as the government intensifies its crackdown on drug-related crimes.

Three Cambodians were arrested in Phnom Penh last year in a sting operation that netted almost 1.5 tons of marijuana allegedly worth more than $7 million. Police said the drugs had been bought in Laos, hidden in shipments of coffee and moved to a Phnom Penh warehouse en route to a third country.
