Immigration Police Accused Of Ignoring An Old Australian

The immigration police at the Phnom Penh International Airport on 03 November 2016 had denied to the accusation that the immigration police ignore an old foreign man. Police said, after having received an information that a taxi driver from Sihanoukville had dropped him at the airport, we went to checked and asked him and we found out that he is a 74 years old Australian named, Valeri Aynbund. He was losing his mind and got very lost. No matter what the police asked him he couldn't tell where he wanted to go. Later, he was sent to the immigration department before police informing the Australian embassy.

Well, they didn't really ignore him, but was he arrested? Visa overstay? Not much of a story.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

No, he was eventually taken to the hospital. I think the gist of the complaint is that they ignored a dude who needed medical treatment.

He arrived at PPIA on the last day of his visa, so presumably he was planning to fly out but became confused at the airport.Let's hope that the Australian Embassy have contacted his family and are taking care of him.

The immigration police seem to have done a reasonable job on the whole. There are many international airports in the world where the poor guy would still be wandering around lost and unaided.
