Policeman's family arrested for cattle rustling; Banlung.

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

The policeman, the cattle rustlers and the governor's cattle. A morality tale.

BANLUNG: A policeman's wife and their two sons were supplying their abattoir by slaughtering cattle and buffalo that they stole themselves or bought from other thieves. This had been going on for years and involved hundreds of missing cattle, but the authorities took no notice of the complaints from local villagers.
However, last Friday, the rustlers got too greedy and stole cattle belonging to the governor of the O'Chum district - they were arrested on Sunday morning and taken for questioning.
The woman's husband, who is a provincial police official, has not been implicated in his family's disgrace.

Moral of the story: you can steal from the poor, but don't mess with the governor (even if your husband is a policeman.)
