Phnom Penh: Around 11:20 am on 05 October 2016 at teahouse hotel located on street 242 in Chaktomok commune, Daun Penh district, Phnom Penh, a British man was found hanging with the bathroom door inside his room. Adding that, one day before the committed suicide, he told the receptionist not to allow anyone to disturb him as he wanted to relax. He had been renting the room since the first of October.
The cleaner knocked his door and on one answer, so they were suspected and unlocked the room and finally found the man hanging himself. The man was identified as James Philip, 51 years old. The man was found with a bruise spot on his neck, blood flowing from his wrists to his fingers and from his waist to his foot. Adding that, according to urine test, he was found with methamphetamine. Re: Brit Expat Found Hanging At Teahouse Hotel
I feel so sorry for the people who find these people, & have to clean up after them.
Is Cambodia the place to go to, if you want to drink/drug yourself to death or just want to kill yourself ?

Hi this is my Uncle that sadly took his own life . I am looking for any one who knew him to get in contact . I would like to know where he had been staying prior to this horrific incident so that we could possibly recover his possessions . I believe he was staying in a small village . The whole family are in shock and would appreciate any info . Thanks in advance Marc email [email protected]

The detail about asking one's partner for ID is pretty much standard.
How is the Guest House to know if your companion has been living with you for 4 years or some ichi-nichi-koibito met an hour ago?
What if you wake up in the morning with your money, passport , credit cards, Khaosarn Road Rolex (maybe even a kidney and/or a cornea) missing and start yelling?

Condolences to everyone. Have you been in contact with police? While I wouldn't rank them top in the world or anything, I would think they'd be a little helpful tracking down that info.Marc watson wrote:Hi this is my Uncle that sadly took his own life . Also, the embassy might be able to offer more help.
I hope someone who knew him will read this and contact you.

Thailand seems to be more strict about registering when you check-in to a hotel, so maybe they can run his info and track down where he was staying. Not sure if that's already been tried already or not.
