On one level this is amusing (and who really envies the Poles, Serbs and Irish*, programmed from infancy to remember every triumph and every disaster?) but the ignorance and gullibility of the American public made it easy to convince Joe Six-Pack that the wicked Saddam Hussein was somehow behind 9/11 and made the Iraq adventure an easy sell to the American public.
