I flew 2 times with Thai Smile SR BKK
great service and new planes. I prefer TS to Air Asia because it is flying BKK and not DMK

Just an update on my experience with Thai Smile Bangkok to Chiang Rai return a couple of weekends ago. I was very impressed with the whole experience from start to finish and would use them in preference to ThaiAirAsia if I had the choice based on my trip. I certainly wouldn't classify it as a budget carrier in terms of service as you get a good baggage allowance included in the price and we were served a decent sandwich with choice of drink, which is all I want on a local flight. Large plane which was fully occupied on the way up, less so on the return journey. I would say looking around that a fair few customers were connecting from Thai International flights hence the decent baggage allowance.
I'll be checking their routes to see where else they fly for the future which Swampy always being preferable to Don Muang coming up from Pattaya. Big thumbs up from me.

THAI Smile pulling out of Don Mueang
24 December 2016
Budget airline THAI Smile is pulling out of Don Mueang, ending its policy of operating simultaneously at two airports serving Bangkok.
The fully owned subsidiary of Thai Airways International will stop all flights from Don Mueang on Jan 16 and move all services to Suvarnabhumi.
The low-cost carrier yesterday described the move as complying with a revised strategy to consolidate operations at Suvarnabhumi and cooperate with the parent airline in pursuing Indian, Chinese and Asean markets.
The move represents a dramatic departure from the airline group’s strategy dating back to 2014, when it saw the need for THAI Smile to operate at Don Mueang and capture a share of budget airline traffic at the airport.
THAI Smile has since Aug 8, 2014 operated three domestic routes out of Don Mueang, to Chiang Mai (four flights a day), Phuket (three daily) and Khon Kaen (three daily)...
