Kampot hotels
Any advice on hotels in Kampot, near the centre. Don't fancy getting raped or drowned at those sketchy places on the river.

Re: Kampot hotels
Is David Catteneo's pleasant guesthouse still in business?
It is probably true to say that there never were any rapes or drownings on the premises. Unless they were hushed up, of course.

Two moons is nice, quiet and has a great swimming pool.
Billabong looks alright, and has a pool also.
Villa Vedici is out of town a ways, but very nice place, right on the river, great pool.

Re: Kampot hotels
i stayed in a great place that had just opened, think i was the first person to stay in my room, it was huge (at least 30m2) and was only like $8/9 per night, had all the usual works, and great khmer staff, although their english was minimal, no swimming pool though, but great view of the mountains and stuff, in the centre as well few minutes walk from the river near the main bridge

When I travel to Kampot I always stay at the Mea Culpa Guesthouse. A few blocks away from the center of the waterfront, but still a block from the water, Best Pizza I've had in Cambodia (wood fired oven), very quiet, nice restaurant/lounge area , clean, TV, aircon, and not expensive. If I remember right their rooms are a little over $20. a night.
