Cintri says it is owed up to $20M by Phnom Penh residents
Fri, 16 September 2016

Phnom Penh’s much-maligned waste-collection firm Cintri yesterday used a meeting with City Hall to ask for help in collecting between $10 million and $20 million in unpaid fees it says it’s owed by residents in the capital.
Speaking after the meeting – which was held to discuss the company’s performance – Cintri manager Ith Chenda said the municipality should push customers to pay and help find a solution, complaining many simply ignored the waste-management charge.
“According to the agreement, the company will collect, transport and clean, while the authority has the responsibility to encourage people to pay the fee,” Chenda said.

What is so hard for cintri to understand ? Place large ''jumbo '' commercial size bins around the city and people WILL put their rubbish in it. There is one at the ''white building '' and it is always full, and occasionally one at the old market, again, always full.

Doesn't Cintri bill via EDC bills? How are they not getting paid?

Here's proof that the system will work,,, if Cintri would only do their part and empty them.

inefficient in collecting waste, inefficient in collecting money, this company deserves to be in the dump, i should stop paying my hard earned 10$ per month to them
Money is not the problem, the problem is no money

Seriously Cintri is not doing a good job keeping the city clean. Almost everywhere you go in the city, you will see a pile up of trashes. BTW, can't really blame them, some Cambodians are really stupid and don't fu*king care about the environment. They just litter everywhere. Come to Phnom Penh after water festival bolueeleh.

i dont dont really like PP, i always end up staying near the bar streets, eating at almost all the same restaurants near the riverside, near central market or aeon mall, been to all the touristy spots, palace, museum, killing fields etc, nothing much to do there except mongering at night timeSamouth wrote:Seriously Cintri is not doing a good job keeping the city clean. I generally don't really like Phnom Penh city too, but this is where my work is. So I have to stay. Hopefully i can move back to Sihanoukville soon. Hit me up when you are in town next time.
BTW, I want you to come after the water festival, because I want you to see how dirty the city is after three days of the festival.

Why not take some photos of the same places in PP before and after the festival and then post them? We will all see then.Samouth wrote:bolueeleh wrote:i dont dont really like PP, i always end up staying near the bar streets, eating at almost all the same restaurants near the riverside, near central market or aeon mall, been to all the touristy spots, palace, museum, killing fields etc, nothing much to do there except mongering at night timeSamouth wrote:Seriously Cintri is not doing a good job keeping the city clean. But, to be fair, if there's nowhere to put the rubbish it will stay in the street. Ideally there would be plenty of bins... and of course lots of portable WC
for the crowds also.

How does it prove the system works? How many of the residents who use that dumpster pay?
That's the issue here, not the fact that people just throw waste all over the place.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
