UT said, "On the plus side, these locally made grass roofs suppress the sound of a heavy rain. Can't say the same for the zincalume or tin roofs."
I fail to find any advantage in roofing material which allows rain to quietly drip into your residence.

As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

What about the sandles and socks and the hanky with knots in the corners? English beach attire!

English beaches may be grim, but at least they are quality checked.
What about snookies? The sand is probably full of e coli bacteria from untreated sewerage being pumped out to sea, which washes bach up again....

English beaches: Even for the 2 days a year that the sun comes out, the water temperature remains around 0° which is good for getting rid of bacteria, but you have to be nuts (or drunk) to go swimming in the channel/North Sea. Drunk works ok, but you sober up fast, it's that cold.shnoukieBRO wrote:English beaches may be grim, but at least they are quality checked.

When you think about it, "English" + "beach" is a contradiction in terms.

Old report!
Another black mark for Blackpool's dirty beaches as resort is named among Britain's worst
Experts warned that ‘no-swimming’ signs may soon be erected in Blackpool and elsewhere along the Lancashire coastline unless the water quality is urgently improved.
Of the 25 beaches the campaign group failed, six were on the Lancashire coastline, including two in Blackpool.
Robert Keirle, pollution programme manager for the campaign group, said: ‘This problem goes back for as long as I can remember and I’ve been coming here for 20-odd years.
‘This is a lesson Blackpool is just not learning or a message they are not heeding. I keep explaining what the problems are and how they need to be addressed and we are just not progressing.
The North East was the best-performing region, with 53 out of 64 beaches recommended for excellent water quality. The North West was worst with only eight out of 37 beaches recommended.

The sewage effluent flowing down Serendipity Road/Hill just feet from Restaurants and bars, and flows into the swimming beach at the bottom is full of fecal coliform bacteria and disease. You have tourists walking through it, and tracking it into restaurants and their hotel rooms, mobile food carts parked over it making food and people swimming in it. A plague looking for a place to happen.
