Hey DAFA, why did so much of the curtain wall glass break on the gumboot? We don't see this in Australia.

Re: PP is ready for 133 storey twin towers - tallest building in SEA.
A couple of years back a flurry of bigwig activity brought a reporter from Phnom Penh Post to this site. Rumour was in the air that the second largest building in Asia was to be constructed there but nobody on the site would give the reporter a direct answer. Off he/she went to whatever Department issues building permits and asked a spokesman if he had issued a permit for this; the second tallest building in Asia. The spokesperson said he couldn't remember.

In Cambodia's construction frenzy, size does matter
Extravagant and questionable projects risk overwhelming Phnom Penh
LOGAN CONNOR
The Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh is perhaps not the first place one thinks of when it comes to the world's biggest airports. But a plan to build just such a facility in the small Southeast Asian nation, reported in mid-January, is the latest in a series of extravagant and, according to many critics, dubious projects. They have been sprouting under the leadership of Prime Minister HE, the strongman who recently marked 33 years in power.
One of Phnom Penh's more eyebrow-raising projects is the Thai Boon Roong Twin Trade Center, a pair of 133-story skyscrapers planned on the Mekong River at an estimated cost of $2 billion. At 500 meters high, they would unseat Kuala Lumpur's Petronas Towers as the tallest buildings in Southeast Asia.
Even more audacious is a plan for a 600-meter skyscraper, outlined recently by HE at a graduation ceremony at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia in Phnom Penh; if completed, it would be the world's fourth-tallest building. However, no ground has been broken and projects like this often stall before construction...

there is good money in spinning projects, after the projects fails to complete, what can the developer do? sue the government? musical chair of projects now going on in PP and every time someones takes a go at it, money is to made, licensing, application, surveying, testing fees etc, taxes etc, scamming at country level, well done well done
Money is not the problem, the problem is no money

2 August 2017
Construction of the 133-storey, $2 billion Thai Boon Rong Twin Towers in the heart of Phnom Penh, which was due to start early this month, is running behind schedule.
An architect with the project said a comprehensive plan has not yet been finalised.
The Thai Boon Roong Twin Tower Trade Center is to be jointly developed by local firm Thai Boon Roong and Chinese contractor Kia Nip Group at a cost estimated at more than $2 billion.
It will be set on five hectares of land in the heart of Phnom Pen opposite the NagaWorld Casino along the Mekong River.
However, he [Tous Saphoeun, the achitect]did not reveal the exact date for construction to start. He also claimed the company did not have any problems with the funding of the project...

Still delayed, but still going ahead .
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Isn't this the same group that are involved in the pay dispute at the Great Duke?
Silence, exile, and cunning.

No, they own the building and lease it to the company running the Great Duke hotel.John Bingham wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2019 7:45 pm Isn't this the same group that are involved in the pay dispute at the Great Duke?

Amusing if one of the poorest capitals gets a white elephant building like this constructed. Reminds me of that half finished structure looming over Pyonang, North Korea.
