Wildlife seized in Battambang bus raid.
On the evening of August 30, police searched bags on a bus in Battambang and found 207 turtles and 16Kg (?)of snakes that were being transported illegally. The owners of the bags ran away.On the morning of August 31, there was a photo op in front of Battambang Provincial Police Station.

Bush Meat Seized in Market
Stung Treng: More than 100 kilograms of bush meat has been seized from vendors selling it at a market in Stung Treng province.
Provincial Forestry Administration official Hun Sam Oeurn said his officials cooperated with military police to crack down on bush meat trafficking in the market.
Mr. Sam Oeurn said the seized items included 2.7 kilograms of dried monkey meat, 72 kilograms of wild pig, 27 kilograms of deer, three kilograms of dried deer meat, three dried lorises and eight porcupine stomachs.
There were also some live wild animals including turtles and large monitor lizards which would be released into the wild, he said...

More live turtles seized in Battambang - there have been a lot of busts for wildlife trafficking up that way lately. But how many get caught and how many get through ?
Dozens of Turtles Rescued in Battambang
Police in Battambang found and seized 93 live turtles in three separate cartons in Thma Koul district during a police patrol on Thursday.
According to the National Police, during the routine patrol police became suspicious of the three cartons and decided to check the contents.
Provincial deputy police chief Koy Heang said police are searching for the owner and believe he is connected to a larger ring of wild animal traffickers working throughout Battambang province...
