We can now have a well-informed / ill-informed and polite / impolite exchange of
views about whether Andean Marching Powder is a fun drug / "Champagne drug" snorted by
groovy people with nice clothes and nice houses OR a screw-you-up horrible BAD drug.
It will be recalled by many here that Sigmund Freud was a reserve officer in the Austro-Hungarian Army
back in pre-1914 Imperial times and, under orders, conducted experiments on 'volunteers' * to find out
the extent to which drinking cocaine mixed in water could get the infantry to march faster and further.
He tried it himself and gave it to his sisters and the family's maids ...
* Perhaps these lads were what the British Army used to call "Sergeant-Major's Volunteers"
PERSONAL DISCLOSURE: Mammothboy2 has, of course, snorted cocaine in Youkay, Boston and
(improbably) mile-high Taif back in the day when Taif was a real party town

A truly international drugs operation : a Romanian flying from Brazil brings drugs to Cambodia to pass on to a Nigerian from Thailand, and they all get busted by a tip-off from the US DEA.

Two Men Arrested in Airport Cocaine Bust After US Tipoff
Adrian-Calin Varadi, 35, had arrived from Brazil and was apprehended by authorities at the airport at about 4 p.m. in response to a tip from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Deputy National Police Commissioner Mok Chito said on Monday.
https://www.cambodiadaily.com/news/two- ... ff-116721/He did not explain why they picked Mr. Varadi out of the crowd. But once arrested and questioned, he said, the Romanian led police to his alleged Nigerian contact, Chukwuemeka Ibe, 40, who was arrested at a Phnom Penh guesthouse on Sunday evening.
“[Mr. Varadi] came to Cambodia in order to give the drugs to another person who came from Thailand,” he said. “We already arrested the person who came to take the items.”

The route is actually Doha to PP and just does a 1 hour stop off in Saigon to drop off people not wanting to continue on to PP and pick a few backpackers up going to PP.
Those going Doha all the way to PP never get off the plane in Saigon as its just a 50-60 min stop.

Chinese Man Nabbed With Rhino Horn
by Phan Soumy and Aisha Down | August 17, 2016
A search of the luggage of a 31-year-old Chinese man arriving in Phnom Penh uncovered more than 4 kg of rhinoceros horns that a wildlife NGO valued at more than $400,000 on the Chinese market, where it is coveted as a status symbol, officials said.
The man, Weng Zhiyong, 31, was traveling from Namibia but arrived at Phnom Penh International Airport on Sunday afternoon on a Qatar Airlines flight that originated in Doha, Cambodian customs authorities and immigration police said.
It was the same flight on which a Romanian was caught traveling with nearly 5 kg of cocaine valued at more than $500,000, according to airport immigration records. Mr. Weng was arrested at 4:30 p.m. after Cambodian authorities searched his luggage.
“We decided to check the target after we learned what country he’d been traveling from,” said Leang Hay, chief of customs at the airport. “Previously, we’ve arrested people—mostly Chinese and Vietnamese—carrying rhinoceros horns.”
The seizure—eight pieces of horn weighing 4.38 kg—was the fifth major seizure of rhino horn at a Cambodian airport since 2012, Mr. Hay said.
