US-Cambodia SCAM with Fake Accident

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

What IP Address(es) did the emails come from? If they were sloppy, they might not have taken the time to hide their real IP Addresses.

That would at least tell you what country they're in.
If she still has the original emails, that would be easy to do.

Would be an interesting exercise.

Not so long ago women were being scammed by alleged US officers in Afghanistan and Iraq. They usually wanted to visit the victim but had to pay for their furlough and needed cash sent. I remember one of them was using the photo of a General, I think he was number two in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Had a European gf several years ago. Her ex-husband got into an online acquaintance w a blond Russian girl who was on assignment in Nigeria with a large oil company. He arranged to have her come to France to visit him. Sent her funds to buy a round trip ticket. On the day of her flight he got a very distressed call from a hospital official saying that she was badly hurt in an auto crash on the road to the airport. Much loy required.

Can't remember how it was that he failed to send any more money, he probably was persuaded not to by a friend with an ounce of sense.

I was the victim of a conman about 6 or so years ago - he was real life though, not online. It's the most souls destroying experience, it's just awful.
For those who are nosey- Andrew John Harper is the maggot's name.
