Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

Wow Burma has train. This is better than Cambodia. We don't have train for carrying people only cargos. I can't remember I read somewhere you wrote. It seemed like it is really expensive traveling there. I guess I will wait until Burma becomes a backpacker-friendly country like Cambodia Vietnam and Thailand. Anyway it would be great if you write your trip summary.

I saw the freight train actually moving in PP the other day - I wish I'd got a photo as people won't believe me, but I was driving at the time.

Yes we have train, but so far we only use it to carry freights from pp-Kampot and vice versa. I wish we have trian to carry people ASAP. :( I also have never been on the plan.

curious;
what do u mean backpacker friendly? ( CHEAP< SMELLY<WEARS WEIRD CLOTHES, LIVES ON LESS THAN $5/DAY etc etc)
Mynamar has Airplanes ( over 15 airports) trains, bus's, boats, Cars, tuk tuk, bicycles and motorcycles
fan room can be had for under $15 ( I had one in Katha for $6 with river view) and most major cites have dorm rooms.

The train from Mandalay to Bagan was $2,80 and 9 hours upper class, regular class ( hard seat) was $1.90
from mandalay to Mytkyina 20 hours in a sleeper compartment for $23, regular class less than $5

I agree that some backpackers are smelly and whatever like you mentioned, but not all actually. I met a few they are actually clean and knowledgeable. The reasons that we chose to travel as backpacker, because we are young and we don't earn much money to stay and eat at fancy place.

I went back to see what you previously wrote about your trip to Burma. I misread it. In fact Burma is really cheap. I was confused how you wrote the price of things. I can't believe the transportation there is really cheap.

You are right. Some of them are daredevil. I would like to travel as backpacker, but I am not a daredevil. :)
